Hi, I’m Celestine.
I have always been interested in storytelling through art, and before I became a tattooist, I studied English Literature at Durham. While I was at University, I picked up side jobs illustrating anthology covers and websites. I did murals for the cafes that I worked in, and ran a small poster business on Etsy. Although I never went to art school, I’ve always studied art.
I’ve been interested in tattoos since I was a kid, and started stick and poking as a teenager. I came to Red Earth as a Junior Artist in May 2025, and graduated as a resident in autumn 2025. I am constantly excited by my job, and I feel immensely privileged to be able to create full time.
My practise is built around making you feel comfortable. Being tattooed myself has often been a vulnerable process, and I appreciate that for many people there are anxieties and stresses attached. Tattoos are meant to make us feel at home in our bodies, and allow us to make intentional choices about ourselves. It’s my privilege to be a part of this process, whether your tattoo is sentimental and meaningful, or you just want to look cool!
